Partner nominations at Ermitage Partners
Ermitage Partners, an independent and partner-owned fundraising boutique dedicated to alternative investments, is pleased to announce five Partner nominations, of which two are new recruitments and three are promotions. The nominations highlight the success and growth ambitions within our home markets, Nordics and South Korea. Our target is to work long term with a small number of exceptional general partners like Hamilton Lane, KKR and Apax, and raise approximately one billion euros annually. Ermitage Partners employs 16 professionals in its offices in Helsinki, Stockholm and London.
Jan Sasse
Jan Sasse has 12 years’ experience in Private Equity, 10 years in operational and strategy Consulting as well as seven years leading startup companies. He is joining Ermitage Partners after having served five years as CEO of Tesi where he led a team of 45 private equity, growth and venture capital professionals. Tesi is a leading local private equity company, managing EUR 2.4 billion of direct, fund and fund of funds investments. He was previously a founding member of Norvestia’s Growth Investment operation that later became the platform for CapMan’s Growth Investments. Jan has also held BoD positions in several companies. Jan is a German-Finn with passion for team sports having competed in handball on Finnish Championship level.
Johan Sund
Johan Sund has more than 15 years of experience within the Swedish Private Banking market targeting HNW and UNHW individuals. Prior to joining Ermitage, Johan has spent the last six years as Head of Sales & Marketing and part of the Swedish management team within the Private Banking division of Carnegie Investment Bank. Previous employers include SEB and Danske Bank. In addition, Johan is a co-founder of a Swedish logtech start-up. In his spare time, Johan enjoys hunting and fishing as well as spending time on the padel court. During his youth, Johan played national level basketball.
Anssi Rantala
Ph.D. (econ) Anssi Rantala has worked as a Senior Advisor and Chief Economist of Ermitage Partners since May 2021. He has over 20 years of experience in macroeconomic and financial market analysis and in asset management. Before Anssi joined Ermitage Partners, he was the deputy CEO of Aktia Bank responsible for asset management and life insurance. He has also served as Head of Forecasting at the Bank of Finland and as Chief Economist at the OP Group. After 40 years of practice, Anssi is still passionate about tennis. He has also over 20 marathons under his belt.
Henri Kaskimo
Henri Kaskimo joined Ermitage Partners in early 2021. Henri has been a pivotal part of developing the operations of Ermitage and continues this work in his role as the Head of Business Development. Prior to joining the team, Henri was a partner at Waselius & Wist attorneys’ office. During his pastime, Henri enjoys sports in many different forms, and after a hectic and successful closing process he likes to relax and trek in the nature.
Freja Väyrynen
Prior to joining Ermitage, Freja Väyrynen worked at Borenius Attorneys Ltd where she advised private equity sponsors and institutional clients on fund formation and investment management. Freja will continue to work broadly with investor relations and business development, primarily in Finland and Sweden. Freja is passionate about wine and food and loves to travel.
