Jerome (born 1971) is the Managing Partner of Ermitage Partners, based in Stockholm. He has more than 20 years of private equity experience, mostly within CapMan Group where he served in multiple roles, among others as Deputy-CEO he led business development, finance, fundraising, legal and comms. Jerome has also served four years on the Board of European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (“Invest Europe” today) in Brussels. Prior to Ermitage, Jerome served as the Managing Partner of Scala Fund Advisory, a fundraising boutique that grew to be one of the leading private market advisory businesses in the Nordics. Jerome is a French-Finn and is passionate about wine, classical music, tennis and marathon running (around the world!). During his youth, he competed at national and international level in table tennis and petanque.
Mikael is responsible for business development and the execution of tailor-made investment solutions. Prior to Ermitage, Mikael ran a firm advising clients in the private equity field. Mikael has also worked as a finance, capital markets and M&A lawyer at Borenius Attorneys. In addition to the above, Mikael has gained extensive experience from real estate investments and entrepreneurship by operating his own real estate investment firm. During his free time, Mikael enjoys long-distance runs, learning about wine and reading autobiographies.
Antti's responsibilities include project management, market research and conducting fund due diligence. Prior to joining Ermitage, Antti was a co-founder of Scala Fund Advisory, a fundraising boutique that grew to be one of the leading private market advisory businesses in the Nordics. He has been managing several successful fundraising projects across different private market strategies. In his spare time, Antti enjoys spending time with family and friends, and playing various ball games. During his youth he represented the national team in tennis and he has won more than ten Finnish championships.
Henri has over 10 years of extensive experience in finance and M&A. Prior to Ermitage, Henri was a partner at Waselius & Wist, where he headed the firm’s real estate practice. His other former employers include the European Investment Bank, the European Central Bank and Roschier Attorneys. In addition, Henri is a start-up and real estate investor. During his pastime, Henri enjoys sports in many different forms, and after a hectic and successful closing process he likes to relax and trek in the nature.
Anssi is an experienced finance professional, who has worked for over 20 years in macroeconomic analysis, banking and heading asset management, at Bank of Finland, OP Group and Aktia Bank among others. He is also the founder and CEO of Macro Insights Ltd, a macroeconomics and strategy boutique. At Ermitage, Anssi is responsible for the analysis and insights of global macroeconomic and financial market topics. In his spare time Anssi reads a lot, mostly fiction. After 40 years of practice, he is still passionate about tennis. Over 20 marathons and a knee operation under his belt, Anssi also enjoys peaceful walks with his king poodle.
Jan has 12 years of experience in private equity, 10 years in operational and strategy consulting as well as seven years leading startup companies. He joined Ermitage Partners after having served for five years as the CEO of Tesi where he led a team of 45 private equity, growth and venture capital professionals. He was previously a founding member of Norvestia’s growth investment operation that later became the platform for CapMan’s growth investments. Jan has also held board positions in several companies. Jan is a German-Finn with passion for team sports having competed in handball on Finnish Championship level.
Erik Hougs’ background within private market investments and more traditional public market asset management is extensive and diverse. Erik has an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset and has previously started financial business in Denmark before joining Ermitage as a Partner. Erik e.g. initiated the establishment of Nordic Solar – today one of the largest solar investment companies in the Nordics. Prior to joining Ermitage Partners Erik was Senior Manager with multi strategy private market house – Nordic Investment Opportunities, NIO. Erik is also diverse in sports, moving from military pentathlon in the younger years to more peacefully enjoying a morning run or tour in kayak, an afternoon mountain biking, or hunting with friends during season.
Prior to joining Ermitage, Freja worked as an associate at Borenius Attorneys Ltd where she advised private equity sponsors and institutional clients on fund formation and investment management. In her spare time Freja likes to spend time in the nature with her dogs and horses. She is passionate about wine and food and loves to travel. Before her career in the field of law, Freja competed with Icelandic horses and represented the Finnish national team several times.
Daniel’s responsibilities include investor relations and team development, among an array of other activities. Prior to joining Ermitage Partners, Daniel developed his diverse skill set in a multitude of positions within the start-up ecosystem. In his early days, Daniel played basketball on a national level having won a Finnish junior championship in addition to being a part of Finland’s youth national team. In his spare time, if Daniel isn’t wielding a golf club or padel racquet, you will likely find him playing piano and singing with others.
Marc-Johann Kavantsaari is a tech entrepreneur gone venture capital and private equity professional. He is a Forbes 30 Under 30 finalist in the Impact Entrepreneurship Category, LLM and has his background in the Nordic startup ecosystem. Prior to Ermitage Partners, he worked as an Investment Director at a venture capital fund and was the founder and CEO of a global personal safety startup. He has a deep understanding of fundraising, entrepreneurship, venture capital and venture building. In his spare time Marc-Johann loves to be active and play tennis, golf, hunt, hit the gym, ski, sail, sing, dance and most importantly spend time with friends and family.
Alexander's responsibilities in the team include investor and network relationship management. Prior to joining Ermitage, he has lived in equal parts in the United States and Sweden, before pursuing his bachelor’s degree at the Stockholm School of Economics. Alexander is an active angel investor and has a passion for engaging in creative projects within music and media. In his free-time, he enjoys playing piano and spending time with nephews and nieces, preferably at the same time.
Atbin is a Swedish-born Iranian raised in the UK and educated at King Edward’s School, Bath before completing a BSc in Medical Science and MSc Finance at the Universities of Leeds and Bath, respectively. Atbin spent the early years of his career at Goldman Sachs in London, working with investors across the Nordics, Benelux & the UK, followed by GP Bullhound, where he lead the set up of the firm’s fundraising strategy. Atbin is a native speaker of English, Swedish & Farsi and fluent in Spanish. He is an avid long-distance runner alongside his dog and enjoys going to the gym, travelling, playing football, scuba diving, skiing and is a season ticket-holder to his beloved Manchester United.
Karl has over 25 years of experience in sales, business development and the luxury lifestyle industry. Prior to his position at Ermitage, Karl was the CEO for the champagne house Hatt et Söner where he managed the financial and business processes of both the French and Swedish entity of the company. Former employers of Karl's include Quintessentially, the world’s leading concierge service, where he was the Director of Sales & Partners for six years. Karl is also the co-founder of a communications and consultancy agency that has worked with high level clients within the luxury lifestyle industry and has founded two of Scandinavia’s most exclusive lifestyle publications. Half Swedish, half Spanish, Karl is passionate about traveling, wine, the great outdoors, and spending time with his family.
Aapo’s responsibilities in the team include project management, investor relations and conducting due diligence. In addition, Aapo is responsible of managing our trainees in day-to-day work. Prior to Ermitage, Aapo has had experience in back-office functions and customer service in the financial sector. Aapo has a passion for classical and choral music, which started at a young age during his years in the Cantores Minores boys’ choir. Whenever Aapo is not working or studying, he is most certainly singing: either in a concert or just for fun!
Magnus’s responsibilities in the team include investor and network relationship management. Magnus has an entrepreneurial mindset and has built a vast network within the Nordic start-up ecosystem. Prior to joining Ermitage, Magnus worked in the field of project management and process optimization. He holds a bachelor’s degree both from Copenhagen Business School and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. In his free-time Magnus enjoys cooking, collecting records and travelling, as well as actively broadening his knowledge in the world of wine.
Noora’s background is in financial accounting and prior to joining the team she worked as a financial consultant serving companies from various industries. Her responsibilities at Ermitage Partners include managing and developing financial processes and the CRM system. In her free time, Noora likes to spend time with her family. Things related to both plants and crafts are close to her heart.
Laura is a professional management assistant with broad experience in customer service. At Ermitage, Laura is responsible for overall office experience and events. Prior to Ermitage, she worked as an Assistant at Waselius & Wist for several years. Laura enjoys art in various forms, walks in the woods with her senior collie and a relaxing yoga class.
Stella lived, studied, and worked in both Amsterdam and San Francisco for most of her upbringing before moving back home to Stockholm to study economics. Based in Stockholm, Stella is responsible for overall office experience and coordinating events having a background in the hospitality industry. She loves all sports that include a ball, but fell in love with the game of basketball, playing for the Swedish national junior women’s team.
